Earlier this week, Kings of Leon announced their new Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Florence + the Machine) produced album, 'Can We Please Have Fun', which will be released on May 10 via Polydor Records. The album’s lead single, “Mustang,” is available now, accompanied by a high-profile music video that sets the pace for the rest of the album.
'Can We Please Have Fun', as the title suggests, is a document of one of the great rock & roll bands of this era breaking free, trying new things and having fun. Recorded at Dark Horse studio and produced with new collaborator Kid Harpoon, the album sees the band return to their brave roots while also finding new gears. It's the sound of a band unified in vision and purpose, free of expectations and the album the band says they always wanted to make.
“It was the most fun album I've ever been a part of” Caleb says. “It's like we allow ourselves to be musically vulnerable.” Nathan adds. “I love it when a rock band isn't ashamed to admit that not every song has to be turned up to 11.”
The group is gearing up for a monumental year and ready to take on the world. “When you have a band, there's a bond like no other, and when you have a family, you have a bond like no other.” Caleb says. “We have both. I thought if we put all our energy into something, who will stop us? Who can stop us except us?
