Kodak Black faced legal trouble last December after police found him asleep at the wheel of his car with what was initially said to be cocaine in his mouth. Now, the Florida rapper's attorney says his client should drop the charges because he was using prescription oxycodone.
As reported by TMZKodak Black is seeking to have drug charges thrown out of court since his December 7 arrest. According to Bradford Cohen, Kodak's attorney, a lab test concluded that the drugs found on his client's person had been lab-tested and proved to be prescription oxycodone, making the criminal drug charges moot.
However, officers say they also tested the drugs at the scene of the arrest and claim the powdery substance they found was allegedly cocaine, leading to Kodak being taken to jail. He was later charged with possession, tampering with evidence and a traffic violation.
The situation for Kodak is certainly affected by the fact that he is already on probation, but Cohen claims that the substance the police found was oxycodone under the brand name Percocet. Cohen is asking the judge to acquit his client of the existing charges.
The outcome for Kodak Black is yet to be revealed as the judge has yet to rule on the matter.
