Kodak Black he was back in court for violating his probation. His lawyer asked that he be sent to a drug treatment center.
NBC Miami is reference that the Pompano Beach, Florida native appeared in federal court on Tuesday, December 19. He was arrested on Thursday, December 7, after local police found what they believe was cocaine in his luxury SUV.
He has been held in a federal detention center since then. During the hearing, Bradford Cohen's attorney admitted that the “Super Gremlin” rapper does have a substance abuse problem that he faced when he served time in prison in 2020. He then asked for permission to allow Kodak Black to attend a 90- day drug treatment program in arizona.
According to The Miami Herald presiding federal judge Jacqueline Becerra denied the request saying “If you buy drugs or use drugs, you are a danger to the community.” Assistant US Attorney Bruce Brown also felt that removing Kodak Black was a bad idea saying “If we let him out today to go to Arizona, we don't know what's going to happen.”
MC's legal issues stem from 2019 where Kodak Black was indicted for lying on a background check when she bought guns from a gun store in Hialeah. He will remain in the Miami Federal Correctional Center until further notice.
