Convincing even the most reluctant souls to embrace the weekend highs, The Blessed Madonna has joined forces with dance-pop icon Kylie Minogue for a new single, “Edge Of Saturday Night.”
The song is an invocation of the eternal thrill that comes from shedding the burdens of the week and dancing into the freedom of the night. The dazzling collaboration, announced with palpable excitement by both artists in a press release, Instagram The album, released after her debut at Ibiza's Circoloco, combines a radiant pop sensibility with an uplifting house music beat.
The song opens with bright, vibrant synths that dance like fireflies at dusk, setting the stage for a night full of promise. Minogue’s voice glides in with the poetic declaration, “Monday doesn’t matter at all,” a line that instantly connects us to the spirit of the song: living for the weekend, relaxing and making the most of the present moment.
As the song progresses, pirouette piano chords cascade through the mix, perfectly complementing Minogue’s concise and articulate lyrical delivery. Meanwhile, The Blessed Madonna’s effervescent house production ebbs and flows with life, its fizzy beats inviting us to live in the moment.
This sensational collaboration is not only a metaphorical victory over the past, but also a harbinger of what is to come, as The Blessed Madonna prepares to unveil her debut album, Good luckThe album, due out October 11, consists of 24 tracks and includes collaborations with A-Trak, Joy Anonymous and house music icon Jamie Principle, among others.
“Godspeed – the word marks the beginning of a journey and sometimes the end of one,” The Blessed Madonna said in a statement. “After almost a year locked away, when I signed the papers and knew I was going to be allowed to make this album, I called my dad in Kentucky to tell him the good news. He couldn't contain his pride and, in a way, his relief. I was going to be okay. He says it better than I could at the beginning of the record. I lost him suddenly just weeks before the first session, but his voice will live on in Godspeed forever and make a million more journeys for everyone who hears it.”
