Meanwhile, the “Laid to Rest” remix reimagines Lamb of God as an industrial metal band. HEALTH pulls off an inventive edit of the original tracks, fusing guitars into a thumping techno beat and leaving Randy Blythe’s vocals isolated on top.
“When we were discussing ideas for the 20th anniversary of Ashes of the Wake, one of the first things we thought of was a HEALTH remix,” Blythe said in the press release. “Thanks to those guys for being a part of the anniversary release.”
HEALTH added, deflecting any potential backlash: “Before you get mad at us for ruining your favorite song, try to remember that Lamb of God asked us to do this remix. Enjoy!”
The 20th anniversary edition of Ashes of awakening It also includes remixes of “Omertá” by Justin K. Broadrick (Godflesh) and “Another Nail for Your Coffin” by Kublai Khan TX and Malevolence, as well as pre-production demos and live tracks.
