Wave your hands in the air, because ready or not, here they come again: Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Fugees are back on tour together! The 21-date trek, announced on Monday (June 24), will play mostly in the United States before wrapping up with four overseas dates.
The tour — which reunites the eight-time Grammy winner with The Fugees to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Billboard 200 No. 1 album Lauryn Hill's Bad Education, kicks off August 9 in Tampa, Florida at the Midflorida Credit Union Ampitheatre before making its way to the states. Ends October 22 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The co-headlining tour will also feature music from the Fugees' No.1 album The score, with Hill's son YG Marley – whom he shares with Rohan Marley – as a support act.
tickets for the US shows go on sale Tuesday (June 25) with Citi, with sales starting at 10am. local time on LiveNation.com card members. General bidding for stateside shows begins at 10am. local time on June 28. For European fans, pre-sales also start on June 26 via Living Nationwith the general sale also starting on June 28 at 10am. local.
According to the press release, $2 from every ticket sold will go to the MLH fund, which benefits organizations that provide resources for mental health, women's wellness, small business development, education and more.
The Miseducation Anniversary tour was previously postponed in November due to Hill experiencing vocal problems. “As many of you may know, I have been struggling with severe vocal strain for the past month. I made it through every show on prescription prednisone, but it can be harmful to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “To prevent any long-term negative effects on my voice and body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so I can come off the medication completely.”
“This year's canceled shows will be rescheduled for early 2024 AND due to the overwhelming response, we will be adding new cities to the tour, including overseas,” he added at the time.
