LCD Soundsystem has unveiled a new song “X-Ray Eyes” today on NTS Radio DJ Anu’s “Soup to Nuts.”

With keyboard licks, playful vocals, and a predictably danceable drum machine beat, the song features some of LCD Soundsystem's signature traits. James Murphy murmurs in a mid-singing voice that he has eyes that “can see inside” and can “see through your costume” before whispering “x-ray eyes” in the chorus. Meanwhile, a flute-like synth dances around the track and the song's contrasting keyboard lines grow increasingly restless. Listen to “X-Ray Eyes” below at 19:40.
LCD Soundsystem hasn't released a new song since 2022's “New Body Rhumba,” which found its way onto Noah Baumbach's film soundtrack. White Noise. They've been busy on the road, though, playing last year's RE:Set concert series and festivals like London's All Points East, Las Vegas' Life Is Beautiful Block Party, and Salt Lake City's Kilby Block Party. .
The band is about to begin its eight-show residency in Los Angeles, kicking off at The Shrine on October 31. Next, they'll return to New York City for another vacation residency at the Knockdown Center in Queens, with Poolside, Gustaf and Fcukers set to open.
