LeBron James is always good at getting into the storytelling bag throughout his Hall of Fame career, and he felt compelled to share a wild dream he woke up from on Sunday morning (Nov. 10).
King James never went to college – he made the jump to the NBA in 2003 from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio — but in this fantasy state, it suited the legendary Mike Krzyzewski at Duke University.
“I just woke up from a dream that I was playing for Duke for Coach K inside Cameron Indoor Stadium! It was CRAZY in there,” he began. “He told Coach K it was an honor to suit him and he told me the same thing. He is such a LEGEND!”
LeBron never went to Duke, but he played for Coach K on the USA Basketball team from 2006 until the 2016 Olympics.
He went on to say that the game turned into a Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre to get the crowd going. “It happened right in concert,” added James. “Snoop & Dre were the performers and they were playing the song 'The Next Episode.' The ceiling in Cameron's interior almost fell off! Haha. Then my [alarm clock] I left and woke up.”
With the college basketball season in full swing and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's Missionary With the album due in December, perhaps James' dream isn't far from being a real possibility — without him on the court and Coach K roaming the sidelines. Krzyzewski retired from Duke coaching after serving as the team's head coach from 1980 through the 2022 season. He won five national titles at the helm.
The deep sleep paid off for LeBron as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Toronto Raptors 123-103 on Sunday night. James finished the game with another triple-double.
As for Snoop and Dre, they'll close out 2024 with their first joint project since 1993 Doggystyle. Missionary will be released on December 13th and will feature special guests such as Sting, Jelly Roll and more.
