Chicago rapper Lil Durk was arrested by US Marshals on charges of murder for hire in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Thursday night (October 24).
Arrest records show the 32-year-old entertainer (born Durk Devontay Banks) was booked and held in the Broward County Jail. Durk's lawyers have confirmed TMZ who will appear in federal court in Miami on Friday.
Although no further details about the arrest have been released, five members of Durk's Only the Family hip-hop group were indicted in Los Angeles on Thursday in connection with an alleged murder-for-hire plot against rapper Quando Rondo by his alleged involvement in the 2020 assassination of King Von.
According to the indictment (via Chicago's WGN News), Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston were charged with conspiracy to commit murder for hire and committing murder for hire resulting in death.
The indictment is related to the 2022 fatal shooting of Quando Rondo's cousin, who was in a vehicle with the rapper and his sister that was allegedly attacked by Grant, Jones, Lindsey and an unidentified accomplice.
OTF member King Von was shot and killed outside an Atlanta nightclub in November 2020 following an altercation between his team and that of Quando Rondo, an affiliate of Von's rival YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
Earlier this month, Durk was sued for the 2020 murder of another rival, FBG Duck.
