While Lil Nas X's new music stream has been somewhat dark in recent months, the singer is back with a promise – there will be “Light Again.”
In one position on his social media accounts on Tuesday (November 12), Lil Nas announced that he will finally officially release his next single on Friday (November 15). Titled 'Light Again', the song will be released on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music after the rapper previously said so on social media in the spring and shared the song on his SoundCloud earlier this year.
The announcement came on the heels of Lil Nas' announcement high concept trailer for his upcoming new album, Dreamboy. In the clip, Lil Nas X is adrift at sea on a wooden raft when Dreamboy, a flying helmeted figure descends from the clouds to “save” the rapper from himself. “It's time to remember who you are,” Dreamboy tells Lil Nas before surrounding him with a series of memories. Lil Nash responds in the best way he knows how: “Wow! Very-t!”
But not all of Lil Nas' online antics were about trolling his fans. In one position shared early Wednesday morning (November 13), the singer shared a candid reflection with his X followers, thanking them for sticking around to see what he does next. “I just realized how lucky I am to have all of you still fighting with me,” she wrote. “I know it's not always easy! dreamboy isn't just an album, it's me dealing with the loss of what I once was and fighting for a new world. I'm so excited to bring you along for the ride.”
