Lil Nas X seems to be continuing to joke that he's devoted to the Christian faith — despite claiming otherwise.
The “Industry Baby” star took to Instagram on Tuesday (January 9) to share a photo of his acceptance letter to Liberty University, where he will double major in Christian Leadership and Biblical Studies starting in the fall. “I know some people are hating on me right now, but I want you to know that I'm literally going to college for Bible studies in the fall. Not everything is a troll! Anyway I AM A STUDENT AGAIN! LETS GOOO,” she captioned the post, which you can see here.
Lil Nas has a new gospel song dropping on Friday (January 12th), titled “J CHRIST.” In his announcement earlier in the week, the musician shared the cover with himself taking the place of Jesus on a cross as five bystanders begin to lift him off the ground. A second video clip sees him nailed to a golden cross that suddenly transforms into a mech suit with a halo. “MY NEW SINGLE IS DEDICATED TO THE MAN WHO HAD THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIME,” Lil Nas wrote in his announcement.
Through a series of more and more ridiculous clip, Lil Nas also claimed he was “blackballed” from releasing music in 2023 after he “promoted God to the masses,” claimed the music industry was “evil,” and threatened to “expose all your favorite artists.” In another clip, the “That's What I Want” singer also stood next to two police officers in front of a police car flashing its lights. “I'm staying at the police station 24/7 for the next 5 days before I expose the music industry for what they did to me,” he wrote. “Evil will not stop what God has planned.”
