Lil Xan has been ordered to pay more than $27,000 in restitution for pulling a gun during an altercation with a man in June 2019 outside a 7-Eleven in Los Angeles.
Bulletin board have seen court documents surrounding Wednesday's (Oct. 23) ruling that ordered Xan — born Nicholas Diego Lanos — to pay more than $27,823.89 in restitution among other costs to the complainant, Anthony Sanchez.
Sanchez initially filed a complaint seeking damages for assault and battery along with claims for intentional infliction of emotional distress. Judge Steven A. Ellis awarded Sanchez in excess of the five-figure sum in default, meaning Xan Potential did not fully respond to the lawsuit.
Lil Xan and Sanchez got into a heated argument in a 7-Eleven parking lot after Sanchez approached Xan and appeared to mock the “Betrayed” rapper for 2Pac review in 2018.
“What do you want bro? Get the f— out,” Xan can be heard lashing out in footage of the 2019 brawl obtained by TMZ. Xan is also seen brandishing a gun while in the passenger side of his Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. “Look at my car,” he told Sanchez.
According to the lawsuit, Sanchez allegedly feared for his life when the gun was pointed in his direction. He claimed that Xan left and threw a cup he had been drinking out of and some of the contents landed on his shirt, causing him emotional distress.
Sanchez believes he posed no threat to Lil Xan and added that he incurred medical expenses and lost potential earnings after the exchange.
The moment that sparked the argument came when Lil Xan was being interviewed by Revolution in 2018 and gave “influence scores” to various stars. He gave 2Pac a low 2 out of 10 and claimed he made “boring music”.
Xan's criticism of Pac caused a lot of backlash. the rapper said AllHipHop last year that he regretted hitting on 2Pac and admitted he wished the interview had never aired since he was “not in a good place.”
“That interview should never have even aired because I wasn't in a good place during the interview,” he said. “I was angry at the time. And all that came of it was a result of me trying to do the interview faster. I was like, “Next question. Next question.' And then they just ask me questions and I get confused.”
Xan continued: “I think 2Pac is a legend. I don't have to explain myself to anybody, but I was raised on a lot of old school West Coast, a lot of old school East Coast. But after that, it was just a bit of a fluke. It was the result of me not being as mature as I am today. Also inexperienced in interviews.”
On the music side, Lil Xan is back to release his own Diego album independently on the Xanarchy Militia Music label on September 20.
