If you enjoy a good club anthem but also some heavy bass, Doctor P's new single “Nicotine Baby” might be the song for you.
The new song has its roots in dubstep, but its producer, one of the most influential in the genre, intends to go far beyond a singular stylistic classification.
“I really wanted to make a crossover between dubstep and hyperpop,” Doctor P said in a statement. “KLEO PATRA's voice really brought the song to life. I had a lot of fun doing this one with her.”
From the start, “Nicotine Baby” gains momentum with eerie bells and chimes followed by KLEO PATRA's lustful lyricism, which paints a passionate picture of energy pulsing between two people. His voice then leads into an intense bass drop, suitable for making listeners move with excitement and fluidity. This ebb and flow carries throughout the arrangement, alternating between ethereal vocal riffs and choppy bass.
“Nicotine Baby” is available now via Circus Records, which Doctor P co-founded with fellow dubstep veteran Flux Pavilion. The new single will likely be heard on their upcoming tour, which kicks off on June 8 before hitting Virginia Beach, Dallas, Philadelphia, Tucson and finally Tempe on July 13.
