Rising from the depths of heartbreak, Justin Mylo and Karen Harding have joined forces for a new collaboration, “Rescue Me.” Inspired by Faithless' 1995 dance classic “Insomnia,” the nostalgic song is the latest 2023 release from Martin Garrix's STMPD RCRDS.
Stranded souls move forward on “Rescue Me,” where Mylo and Harding throw a brilliant lifeline to dance floors drowning in loneliness. With arms outstretched, the song's lyrics evoke longing and loneliness as Harden implores an absent love to save her from the icy clutches of isolation.
Mylo's production lifts the mood with a kaleidoscopic mix of vintage house and trance. But even as her uplifting rhythms soak into the mix like sunlight splashing across the morning sky, a thread of pain still gets stuck in her throat. Soulful lyricism is par for the course for Harding, one of the dance music industry's biggest vocalists.
“We started with the idea of a melancholic love song, but as the sessions progressed, we realized the potential for a dance song,” Mylo said. “The influence of 'Insomnia' was undeniable and we wanted to capture that essence by combining it with Karen's unique sound.”
