Two of the biggest names in EDM, Tiësto and Afrojack, have teamed up for a new collaboration, “Light It Up.”
The song features MC Ambush, a New York MC who has worked with David Guetta, Hardwell, R3hab and many other dance music greats. The track is high energy from the start, its titular phrase paired with unwavering synth leads before the producers unleash a vintage electro drop reminiscent of Afrojack’s signature Dirty Dutch sound.
The vigor continues into the break, and the crashing waves morph into a gentle rocking for a brief intermission. The calm doesn’t last long, however, as the arrangement morphs into another sequence of drops to drive the festival hit home.
For Tiesto, “Light It Up” follows his genre-bending hit “Hot Honey” featuring Alana Springsteen. Afrojack is equally busy, having recently teamed up with Pitbull and Ne-Yo to release “2 The Moon,” a follow-up to his 2011 global smash “Give Me Everything.”
