Living Color frontman Corey Glover has formed a new band, Sonic Universe, who have shared their debut single “I Am” from their upcoming album. It is what it isAvailable May 10.
The group sees Glover collaborating with guitarist and producer Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob), bassist Booker King and drummer Taykwuan Jackson.
Living Color, Glover's former band, which remains active, is a good frame of reference for Sonic Universe. On “I Am,” the band delivers a very Living Color-esque funk metal style as Glover’s commanding vocals soar in full flight. The upbeat song, which also serves as the album's opener, is a fitting way to begin a new chapter in the singer's career.
With 10 tracks in length, It is what it is It was produced, engineered and mixed by Orlando at Sonic Stomp Studios. Pre-orders are available through earMUSIC.
