Lizzo walked in the 'Garden of Time' when she hit the Met Gala red carpet on Monday night (May 6).
The “Good as Hell” star wore a skin-toned corset dress designed by Paris-based label Weinsanto, with a headpiece that wrapped around her face and stretched out in a flower shape. The outfit perfectly matches the event's dress code, 'The Garden of Time', which is inspired by JG Ballard's 1962 short story of the same name.
It's been a tumultuous year for Lizzo, who shared an Instagram message signed, in all caps, “I QUIT,” in March. “I'm tired of putting up with being dragged down by everyone in my life and on the internet,” the note read. “All I want to do is make music and make people happy and help the world be a little bit better than I found it. But I'm starting to feel like people don't want me in it.”
While the Grammy winner never clarified what instances of being “seduced” she was referring to, it's true that she's been the subject of a lot of scrutiny in recent months. In August of last year, three of her former tour dancers filed a harassment lawsuit against her, alleging sexual misconduct and hostile working conditions.
A few days later, Lizzo cleared things up for good. “I just want to clarify — when I say I quit, I mean, I stopped paying attention to any negative action,” he said. “What I'm not going to give up is the joy of my life, which is making music, connecting with people.”
