Lola Tung is set to make her Broadway debut in the Hadestown musical.
It has been announced that The Summer I Turned Pretty star has landed a role in Broadway’s Hadestown musical.
Lola, 21, will take on the lead role of Eurydice, replacing Solea Pfeiffer, from 9 February for a limited time.
“I saw Hadestown in February of 2020 and immediately fell in love with the show,” the actress said in a statement. “I’d had dreams of being on Broadway since I performed in my middle school musicals, and after seeing Hadestown I instantly added it to the little list of dream shows in my mind.”
Lola continued of the Tony-winning musical, “The storytelling is beautiful and unique, the music is unbelievably special, and the show is just so moving. I am very grateful to be joining this incredible company. What a dream and an honor it is to be making my Broadway debut in this show!”
The actress will star as Eurydice until her run ends on 17 March.
Lola will join the cast which includes Philip Boykin as Hades, Jordan Fisher as Orpheus and Lilias White as Hermes.
The musical, inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, won eight Tony Awards in 2019, making it the most-awarded show of the season.
