“I think a part of me knew that I had hit a wall and that I needed to invite compassion and understand that I was struggling to create on my own, and then I would have something to draw from and reflect on,” she wrote. “It feels like it's working. . I feel incredibly grateful that we have this relationship, that we can each give when the other needs it.”
In the previous newsletter, Lorde revealed that she was “living with a broken heart again” and detailed recent bouts of illness and intense grief. “Don't worry about me, I'm still laughing every day, it's all exciting, even when it's late,” Lorde assured her readers. “I have accepted the mission—I have a self to recover.”
