As per NBC News the rookie will split his time honing his skills in an NBA development division. ESPN reports that the organization will have LeBron James' son on the South Bay Lakers. Originally started in 2001, the G League serves as a minor league of the National Basketball Association. According to sources, Bronny will continue to suit up in purple and gold for the Lake Show's home games, but will not travel with his father and the rest of the team so he can play for the G League.
This should come as no surprise to fans as coach JJ Redick has made it clear that this has been the strategy for Bronny all along. “The plan for Bronny to move between the Lakers and the South Bay was always the plan from day one. [General manager] Rob [Pelinka] and I have talked about it. LeBron talked about it.” he said on the sports news network last month. While he made history as the first NBA talent to play on the same team as his father, Bronny has just one point per game and a 16% shooting average through four games.
