While signing autographs during the Indonesian leg of his world tour, former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson ended up signing a marriage certificate.
Some fans bring vinyl, t-shirts or notebooks for the artists to sign. But an Indonesian fan brought an official marriage certificate to Louis Tomlinson's “Faith in the Future” tour stop in Jakarta, to which Tomlinson jokingly lent his signature.. The document, which appears to be an extract from a marriage certificate from the Republic of Indonesia, includes photographs of the fan and Tomlinson's faces side by side and his signature scrawled in the center.
The fan shared the news of her “engagement” on Tik Tok, explaining that Tomlinson at first asked if it was “legitimate” and then finally agreed to sign it. He even claims that in the post-show meeting, a friend asked him if he would stay in Jakarta, to which Tomlinson replied: “If my wife wants.”
While Tomlinson's signature could represent a new level of extremity in the relationship between artists and their fans, Indonesian law does not recognize a marriage unless it is performed in a ceremony, so technically, the certificate is still a keepsake. and not a legally binding document.
Tomlinson’s “Faith in the Future” world tour continues through the spring, so there will be even more opportunities for international fans to tie the knot Spend an evening with the One Direction singer. Get tickets for the next dates of his tour here.
