In December 2023, LSDREAM and CloZee announced the release of LSZEE, a collaborative project that heralds an onslaught of majestic, spacey sounds that have long dominated. And while fans eagerly await the release of their debut album, the duo has now given them a cosmic taste by virtue of a pair of new singles, “FRENCH DREAM” and “CHRYSALIS.”
In its first minute, the first track transports listeners to outer space with ease and finesse, but not before asking: “Could this be a French dream?” After that initial takeoff, LSZEE releases an upbeat beat complemented by funky trumpet patterns, shaky bass, and fun ad-libs sprinkled throughout.
Meanwhile, “CHRYSALIS” features the same DNA helices but infuses a different sound, reminiscent of a life well traveled and well contemplated. The slower-burning, meditative song is a carefully crafted blend of organic production and hypnotic vocals, all flowing freely through a cohesive arrangement.
In the span of just two songs, LSDREAM and CloZee beautifully showcase the range of their debut album, on which fans are sure to experience the bass-fueled whimsy of their signature sounds. The album will be released on September 27, 2024.
“In 2022 we took a study trip to Joshua Tree to work on some collaborations,” LSZEE said in a joint statement. “We tapped into the most abundant creative spark and the music started flowing. We kept writing more and more songs, exploring new ideas that inspired us, and having the best time, amazed by each other's creativity.”
