Scheduled for December 1 at New York's Beacon Theatre, the show will also mark Malin's first public live performance since suffering a spinal stroke in 2023.
Jesse Malin gave his last public appearance on March 25, 2023, at Webster Hall in New York City. Less than two months later, he suffered a rare spinal stroke that affected the use of his legs. Now, after more than a year of intense and ongoing physical therapy and therapy, Malin will return to the stage with an all-star roster of friends and guests.
Set for December 1 at New York's Beacon Theatre, the lineup includes Lucinda Williams, Counting Crows' Adam Duritz and David Immerglück, Rickie Lee Jones, Jakob Dylan of the Wallflowers, Butch Walker, J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. and Alejandro Escovedo, along with a full set from Malin. More names will be announced later.
The evening will be hosted by actors Michael Imperioli and Mary-Louise Parker. “Jesse Mullin is New York,” says Imperioli Rolling rock. “His work and life as an artist, his kindness to his fellow rockers and his generosity to our community are truly unparalleled. He is a prominent rock storyteller in the lineage of Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Tom Verlaine and Joey Ramone. He's the real deal and I'm lucky to have him as a friend.”
Many of the artists announced on the bill also appear on the Silver Patron Saints: The Songs of Jesse Malin, an upcoming Malin tribute album to be released on September 20th. Others covering Malin's music on LP include Bruce Springsteen, Bleachers, Susannah Hoffs, The Hold Steady and Rancid. Last week, Malin was released Chasing the Lighta live album and concert DVD shot in 2022;
