It's always sweet when an artist invites a superfan on stage during a performance to give them a special moment with their favorite singer. But a recent incident in Slovakia during a Macklemore set at last weekend's Lovestream festival should give anyone who wants to stop. Or at least make them take a beat to check their background.
According to a Post on Facebook by the Police of the Slovak Republic earlier this week, one of Mack's super fans found herself in the wrong kind of attention when she posted a photo on her socials of herself on stage with the rapper holding a microphone as she put her arm around her shoulder.
A translation of the post found police explaining that, “a girl from Slovakia got so excited by a shared solo with Macklemore, she forgot she was wanted.” The festival in the Slovak capital of Bratislava included security by several police officers and “the strange situation on the main stage did not escape their notice”.
Specifically, officials said, after Macklemore invited the young woman to sing with him, “the woman captured this experience and bragged about it on social media, which did not escape the attention of an observant citizen, who also follows the search for persons . page of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic.”
The unnamed good citizen reportedly recognized the 24-year-old woman from the warrants page and notified police, who then arrested her after she left the scene. At the time of publication, police had not disclosed what charges the unnamed woman is reportedly wanted on.
She was subsequently ordered by the court to serve her prison sentence, which she had allegedly avoided in the past. “The woman was then taken to the facility to serve her prison sentence,” police said.
