Madonna took some time between stops on her Celebration tour to return to Malawi.
The queen of pop took to her Instagram stories on Tuesday (March 19) to share a series of photos and videos from the trip, which she took with her 11-year-old twin daughters Estere and Stella. Madonna adopted the twins in February 2017 from the East African country.
“#EstereAndStella @raisingmalawi,” Madonna captioned one of the photos, in which the superstar can be seen sitting on a chair, wearing a green shirt, camo pants and a straw hat. Esther and Stella, meanwhile, stand on either side of her rocking pants in black t-shirts and black jackets. The hashtag refers to her charity, Growing Malawiwhich the “Vogue” singer founded in 2006 and works “to address the most critical needs of vulnerable children,” according to its website.
Madonna is also mom to daughters Lourdes Leon, 27, and Chifundo “Mercy” James, 18, and sons Rocco Ritchie, 23, and David Banda, 18. Both Mercy and David were also born in Malawi.
Last July, after the star was hospitalized for a bacterial infection, Madonna took to Instagram to share her gratitude for her children. “As a mother you can really get involved in your children's needs and the seemingly endless gift,” she wrote. “But when the chips were down, my kids really came through for me. I saw a side of them I had never seen before. It made all the difference.”
