The pair teamed up for Gloria Gaynor's “I Will Survive” and Minogue's “Can't Get You Out Of My Head” during the pop singer's surprise appearance on Madonna's career-spanning Celebration tour.
Los Angeles Audiences on Madonna's Celebration tour got a taste of Down Under when the singer welcomed Australia's own Kylie Minogue to the stage on Thursday night. For the surprise appearance, the pair performed Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive' and Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.
“MADONNA 💓 It's been a long time!!! I like to be with you!!!!” Minogue wrote X (formerly Twitter). “Celebration tour AND now it's International Women's Day…. THANK YOU and LOVE LOVE LOVE.”
Minogue took the stage wearing a sparkly shirt that simply read 'Madonna' across the front. It was a recreation of the Kylie Minogue shirt worn by Madonna at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2000.
As recently as February, the pop singer had floated the idea of a possible collaboration with the iconic performer, saying MI! News, “We're both going to love it. I know I would. He has mentioned it before. So hey, maybe.”
And last year, Minogue joked about the overwhelming power she and Madonna would have if they shared a stage together. “He's going on tour. I don't have Madonna's number, but if I was in town and she was in town, that would be amazing,” he said. 103.5 KTU. “The building will probably fall. We should send out warnings!”
The Celebration tour is almost over as Madonna approaches the fast weeks of the run. The singer still has stops to make in Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, Austin and more before wrapping it up in Mexico City on April 26.
