Alternative metal singer-songwriter talks about scaling back SPLIT HEAD to prepare for your next big project. However, doing so had a kind of liberating effect, allowing him to experiment with both his sound and his lyrics.
As part of the new process, Lindemann sought out both established and up-and-coming artists. She mentions working with Siiickbrain, keeping in mind the new generation coming up behind her, and looking to Evanescent's Gwen Stefani and Amy Lee for career guidance. “[Setfani] “He was in his prime in his 20s and 30s when he started appearing with No Doubt, so I think it's really inspiring to see,” Lindemann said. “I like watching people's careers and seeing that they're still doing great when they're older.”
