Dirtcore Music marks an expansion of the brand as it pivots into realms other than music, welcoming writer, activist and recording artist Marcel “Fable” Price (originally known as Fable the Poet) as the newest signing to the ever-growing underground label. Dirtcore founder and CEO Crossworm recounts his first encounter with Fable in 2014 saying “I had been introduced to Fable as an engineer working on their first record, which was spoken word mixed with live instrumentation. I remember listening to his lyrics and it completely changed me as a person. Showing me a side of life that I haven't experienced and could never live. I helped him put this album together as well as some artwork. This is now the 2nd full release I've had the honor of being a part of and at some point, I think it became an obvious decision for both of us to keep building together. After picking up his new release from New Michigan Press, we decided Dirtcore would be best for the recording artist side of his craft.” Coinciding with the announcement, the video for “Kehinde” from Fable's 2020 triple disc offering New American monarch named after his new book of the same name.
