Maren Morris She won't be taking back her viral comments about Brittany Aldean anytime soon. In a new interview at Cosmopolitanof the series Cheap shotssinger-songwriter reiterated her choice to dub former NBA dancer “Insurrection Barbie” in a social media spat over transgender rights and gender-affirming health care in 2022 — even though the opposing party recently called Morris to chase her.
During the game press conference, Morris had to avoid taking cheap drinks by honestly answering questions, one of which asked if she regretted any of her past posts. “I don't really have any tweets that I regret,” he said. “I will say that I didn't think my 'Insurrection Barbie' tweet to someone would have gotten this much traction, but I'm standing by it.”
By “someone,” “The Middle” singer means Brittany, who is married to country star Jason Aldean. Two years ago, the lifestyle influencer thanked her parents on Instagram for letting her enjoy her “boy” phase without “changing [her] sex,” after which he proceeded to spread misinformation about what he called “child genital mutilation” in relation to gender-affirming health care. Meanwhile, Morris took to Twitter to respond to her claims, saying: “Is it so easy to not be, like not worthless? Sell your clip-ins and zip it up, Insurrection Barbie.”
For the record, experts — some of whom spoke on the matter Bulletin board then — you agree that parents changing the gender of their minor children through reassignment surgery is extremely rare.
