“Every good show needs a break,” Maren Morris told fans on social media on June 20.
To that end, Morris has revealed an upcoming five-song project, titled Break time, scheduled for August 2. The first song from the album is a collaboration with Julia Michaels called “Cut!”, which is out on Friday (June 21). Earlier this week, Morris revealed Michaels' upcoming collaboration on social media, with a photo depicting Morris and Michaels in kitchenwith Michaels sitting on a table and Morris standing over the table holding a chainsaw.
“Can't wait to scream f–k laxatives at the top of our lungs together,” Morris captioned the photo. Last year, the Grammy winner released a pair of songs titled “The Tree” and “Get the Hell Out of Here.” The new five-song set follows her 2022 album Humble Quest and the 2019 CMA album of the Year Award winner GIRL.
Earlier this month, Morris came out publicly as bisexual. “Happy to be B in LGBTQ+,” she wrote Instagram. “Joyful pride 🌈.” The caption was accompanied by a carousel of photos, including a photo of Morris holding a Pride flag. Morris filed for divorce from her husband of five years, Ryan Hurd, last October (the divorce was finalized earlier this year). Morris and Hurd welcomed their son Hayes in March 2020.
