Martha Skye Murphy Announces Her Debut album: Em scheduled to arrive on June 14 via 93 AD. Along with the news comes a new song, 'Pick Yourself Up' – an ode to mistrust, Fred & Ginger and clear days,” as he puts it in a press release. Check it out below, along with the album art and The album's guests include Claire Rousay and, on last month's “Need,” Roy Montgomery.
Murphy adds in the press material: “I wanted the album to feel like this constant tension between being in a very familiar domestic space and then being thrust into a much more unfamiliar environment that's hard to pin down. I want people to feel disorientated, romantically charged by the intimacy of a bedroom, and then launched into a desert.”
Murphy co-produced the record with Ethan P. Flynn, with Marta Salogni and Heba Kadry handling mixing and mastering, respectively. The record also features contributions from Caroline's Alex McKenzie, Squid's Laurie Nankivell and more.
