Maya Rudolph's Beyonce is back for spicier wings.
The previous Saturday night live The cast member returned to the long-running sketch comedy show as host on May 11, reprising her role as a superstar singer in a parody of the chicken-wing-themed YouTube series Hot.
In the sketch, a follow-up to her parody from 2020, Rudolph wears a cowboy hat and red, white and blue dress similar to Queen Bey's outfit on her latest album cover. Cowboy Carterwhich debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in early April.
“That's the one thing I tried and didn't kill and that bothered both me and my husband, my husband is Jay-Z,” Rudolph's Beyonce tells host Sean Evans (who plays SNL's Mikey Day), referring to the original skit.
Things get off to a gentle start as Rudolph's Bey tries out her first wing while answering a question about her new country-themed album.
“I just thought who gets to define country music, why not me?” she says. “This is a tasty wing, not so spicy. I'm from Texas, baby, your girl likes it. Let's do the next one.”
As she begins to sample more hot wings, 'Beyonce' becomes increasingly uncomfortable with the rising temperatures.
“That wing is stepping on my a–. Damn, my bones are hot,” he says after sampling sauces including Satan's Taint Charred Chili and Sergeant Sphincter's Volcanopeno.
Similar to the 2020 parody, Bey's handler eventually takes control of the situation and demands that all footage be destroyed.
This is not the first time that Rudolph has played the beloved music star. Except her Hot sketch, the comedian played Bey in 2012 in a skit where other artists visited her and Jay-Z (portrayed by Jay Pharoah) after the birth of their daughter Blue Ivy.
