It's going to be a Hot Girl Summer. Megan Thee Stallion announced at her tour stop in Atlanta on Sunday night (June 2) that her upcoming album will be titled Megan and is scheduled to arrive next month.
After canceling shows on Friday (May 31) and Saturday (June 1) due to a city water outage, Meg gave a special surprise to the long-suffering fans who packed the State Farm Arena when she revealed that Megan will be released on June 28.
After the sold-out crowd went into a frenzy following the announcement, a QR code along with a special image appeared on the jumbotron screens allowing attendees to pre-save the album by Hot Girl Productions.
Meg has previously explained that she sees the project as a 'rebirth' of Megan Thee Stallion with her first LP following the end of the traumatic Tory Lanez shooting trial, when the singer was sentenced to 10 years behind bars last August .
“This is the music I would want if I wasn't Megan Thee Stallion. I don't want to say that I step into other genres. I just touch other sounds. But she's still very Megan Thee Stallion. I won't feel like I went so far left. It will be real for me,” he said L'OFFICIEL of the project earlier this week. “You're almost like, 'I wouldn't have thought he would have rapped about that, but that sounds great.'
The 29-year-old has unleashed three snake-themed singles and they're headed her way Traumatazine followed up with “HISS,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100, “COBRA,” and the Gwen Stefani-sampling “BOA.”
Megan has a pair of Hot 100 entries on this week's chart with “Wanna Be” featuring her GloRilla tour at No. 50, which will get a boost thanks to a new remix from Cardi B, along with the “BOA” at No. 91;
Houston hottie will try to secure her first No. 1 album to top the Billboard 200 like previous releases Good news (No. 2) and of 2022 Traumatazine (No. 4) failed to reach the top.
The Hot Girl Summer tour continues with stops next week in Raleigh, NC, Hollywood, Fla., and Tampa Bay.
