A fan captured the moment as the Houston native prepared to perform her smash hit 'Cobra'. As the music part of the song started, Meghan was visibly tearing up. The crowd cheered wildly, encouraging her.
The “Hiss” artist was clearly enjoying herself and began to recite the lyrics, but broke down again, with the entire scene being captured on the large video screen behind her on stage. The fans at Amalie Arena cheered louder, with some fans chanting “We love you, queen!!!” in support of her at that emotional moment. For Megan Thee Stallion, the moment comes after a difficult week that saw an AI-generated video of her having sex go viral on the web. She also had to deal with some backlash after Eminem took a dig at her on his recent single, “Houdini,” referencing the infamous incident where she was shot by Tory Lanez. Reps for the Grammy Award winner did not respond to questions from the press after news of the fake video broke.
Although she didn't address it directly, many believe it was part of the inspiration behind a post she made on X, formerly of Twitter, on Saturday promising revenge on those who wronged her: “It's really sick how you go out of your way to hurt me when you see me win You're gonna go too far, fake a-s-t. Just know that today was your last day playing with me and I mean it.” The 29-year-old is touring ahead of her upcoming album, MEGANwill premiere on June 28.
