Tove Lo and Megan Thee Stallion, it’s time y’all take this conversation into each other’s DMs! During Megan’s show in Phoenix Wednesday, the rap star shared onstage that she needed to make a song with Tove, after referring to a previously viral meme of herself learning how to pronounce the Swedish pop star’s name.
“Tove Lo! Period,” she said onstage while holding a fan’s sign, and repeating the line from her original viral vdeo. “Tove Lo, I don’t know if you’re seeing this, but we gotta do a song, because they’re not fucking around,” she continued. “Somebody record this for my girl and tell her we need a song.”
Sharing the concert clip onto her own X account, Tove responded to Megan, writing “I’m so ready @theestallion. Let me know where and when.”
Megan originally went viral in 2022 after being corrected for her pronunciation of the Dirt Femme singer’s name during an Instagram Live. In the clip, Megan appears to be getting ready before a show while listening to Tove’s hit “Habits.” As she reads what seems to be the phonetic spelling of the singer’s name in her Live’s comments, she corrects her pronunciation and adds an enthused “Period!” at the end.
The pair recreated the meme while meeting backstage at LA Pride in the Park, which Megan headlined, last year.
Megan is currently on her Hot Girl Summer tour and is set to visit Los Angeles Friday night. She’ll release her self-titled LP, Megan, next Friday, marking her first independent drop since leaving her label. Meanwhile, Tove released her Y2K EDM-infused Heat EP alongside SG Lewis last week.
“Hot Girl Summer” meets Heat? It’s meant to be.
