Megan Thee Stallion kicked off the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday night (June 30) with a fiery medley of cuts from her latest album, Megan.
She hatched from an egg — an ode to her album cover and a snake motif — before setting it on fire with the blistering Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 diss track of “Hiss”. An army of women then surrounded her during her twerk-filled performance of “Boa.”
“BET, where are my girls? Where is my twin? Where Victoria [Monét] in the; Cocoa [Jones], you look beautiful in front,” she said, gawking at the girls while her enviable knees did their “Where Them Girls At” thing. And in true Megan fashion, she ended her medley with the signature 'ahhh' tongue flick.
Megan is nominated for four awards: Best Collaboration and Video of the Year for “Bongos” with Cardi B, as well as Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and BET Her for “Hiss.”
The 29-year-old Grammy Award-winning rapper released her third studio album, Megan, on Friday (June 28) through her independent label Hot Girl Productions following her departure from 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified. The 18-track project features previously released singles “Cobra,” “Hiss,” and “Boa,” as well as collaborations with Kyle Richh (“BAS”), Yuki Chiba (“Mamushi”), GloRilla (“Accent”), UGK (“Paper Together”), Monét (“Spin”) and Big KRIT and Buddah Bless (“Miami Blue”). Megan is currently on the Hot Girl Summer 2024 tour with GloRilla.
Hosted by Taraji P. Henson for the third year, the 2024 BET Awards are held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
