While Drake was having a friendly match with Kendrick Lamar in the spicy feud sweeping the rap world, the 6 God was also smoking Metro Boomin. It's unclear exactly what sparked the beef between Drizzy and the producer, but after Drake dropped Metro on “Push Ups,” he went after him again on “Family Matters” over the weekend.
In the fiery diss track that arrived on May 3, Drake used Boomin's government name – Leland Wayne – with the OVO boss also implying that he was intimate with the Metro girl. (“Leland Wayne, he's lame, so I know he had to be influential”).
“The drum was for laughs so I let it slide but what we're not going to do is spread lies and have my loved ones never hit my girl — we grew up together she's a real woman and not even in the industry , but I guess #youwouldntknownunboutdatttt,” Metro responded on Sunday X (May 5).
“Now go make another song by telling more lies because we both know you can't tell everyone why I'm not arguing with you.” he continued in a second tweet. “That wouldn't be good for you either, so you must spare us both.”
That was just the tip of the iceberg for Metro, who referred to Drake as a hip-hop “colonizer” by attaching photos of Pusha T's “The Story of Adidon” artwork featuring Rainy on black face. He continued with Drake's jab about “pushing 40” by having his nails paintedand more.
The St. Louis native also claimed that Drake tried to block “Like That” from being played on radio and attached a the email was allegedly leaked by lawyers who went viral on X.
“I'm lame but the first week after #LikeThat you tried to block it on the radio,” he tweeted. “I've been sitting on this email for a month but I'm just skipping you, aren't you #LikeThat record???”
Metro then upped the ante by hosting a “BBL Drizzy Beat Giveaway,” having fans rapping over a beat mocking Drake's alleged cosmetic surgery. The prize? The 30-year-old will give the best freestyle a freestyle. “I know with fatty tissue scars you're not trying to call me lame” He wrote.
“Did you just cook some for the a-?” Drake asked reply on Instagram in Metro's giveaway.
The 6 God made his latest entry into the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud on Sunday night (May 5) with the defiant “The Heart Part 6.” Drizzy cleared the air about the pedophilia allegations and took a swipe at Kendrick's relationship with fiancée Whitney Alford.
Metro was not impressed, tweeting a Chris Paul Sunday night mememocking how, even with Drake's latest diss record, he still has losing points in the Kendrick battle.
