Metro Boomin has been waiting for Young Thug's release from prison and it shows Subway Thuggin could make a comeback.
Earlier this week, the St. Louis producer posted one photo on his Instagram Story shows a screen with some of the things he's working on along with a fire emoji. Fans then took a screenshot, zoomed in on the image and noticed Metro teasing a folder of music titled “Lil Jeff Home” that appears to have 71 minutes of songs.
The two have collaborated a bunch over the years, starting with their fan favorite Subway Thuggin series when they were dropping and leaking loosies about 10 years ago. “The language“, “Speed racer“and”Warrior” were some of the highlights of that time period that for whatever reason were never formalized in an official work. In 2023, Thug released the tape Business Is Business behind bars with the majority of the record being produced by Metro.
The Atlanta rapper has been busy reconnecting with old friends since returning home after nearly three years in the Fulton County Jail. He was recently in the studio with his mentor TI getting back to work. “I'm back, Jack. No cap on my rap. The right way,” he said in a video posted by Tip on Instagram, with TI writing in the caption that his much-discussed retirement may be on hold for now.
Young Thug was arrested in May 2022 on RICO charges and found himself at the center of the largest trial in Georgia history. Metro may be facing legal challenges of his own, as he was recently hit with a civil lawsuit alleging he sexually assaulted a woman in 2016. The producer and his lawyer have denied the allegations and said the lawsuit is “a pure reversal.”
