Coldplay's headline performance at Glastonbury on Saturday night featured several special guests, but one individual's presence was particularly significant: Michael J. Fox.
The film and television icon, who has battled Parkinson's disease since 1991, joined the band midway through their performance of “Humankind.” After serenading Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis, frontman Chris Martin turned his attention to “another legendary Michael.” Martin continued his sing-song introduction by describing Fox as “the one who's just great, with his Chuck Berry pompadour and the way he punched Biff… Ladies and gentlemen, welcome Michael J. Fox!”
Fox came on stage in a wheelchair and played guitar with the rest of Coldplay. He then stayed with “Fix You.”
Coldplay's Glastonbury set also featured guest appearances from Little Simz, Femi Kuti, Laura Mvula and a video project from the members of BTS.
