Wednesday guitarist MJ Lenderman has announced his fourth solo studio album. The new LP and follow up until 2022 Songs about the boat titled Manning fireworksand will be released on September 6 via Instead-. Headlining the record is Lenderman's new song “She's Leaving You,” about a middle-aged man going through a midlife crisis. Check out its accompanying music video, a “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Drop Dead Gorgeous– inspired visual directed Whitmer Thomas and Tatum claybelow.
From Songs about the boatLenderman shared a live album, And the Wind (Alive and Loose!)and reissued his self-titled solo debut.. He recorded his new LP during short, multi-day breaks from touring at Drop of Sun Studios in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina, with co-producer and frequent collaborator Alex Farrar .
Lenderman is in high demand these days, with artists like Waxahatchee and Kevin Abstract tapping him to play guitar or sing on their own material. Most recently, he was featured on Horse Jumper of Love's new single “Snow Angel,” from their upcoming album Disaster trick.
