Country music superstar Morgan Wallen has been charged with three felony counts of reckless endangerment after allegedly throwing a chair from the sixth floor of a Nashville rooftop bar on Sunday night, according to WTVF. Police say the chair landed just three feet away from two officers who were standing in front of the bar's entrance.
The alleged incident occurred at a bar owned by fellow country singer Eric Church. Bar staff identified Wallen as the person responsible for throwing the chair and provided police with surveillance footage that showed Wallen “lunging and throwing an object over the ceiling.” Witnesses also told police that Wallen laughed after throwing the chair.
Wallen was arrested on three counts of felony reckless endangerment, as well as disorderly conduct. He was booked at 12:36 a.m. local time on Monday and released three hours later after posting bail.
In a statement, Wallen's attorney, Worrick Robinson, confirmed the arrest and said his client is “fully cooperating with authorities.”
Wallen just kicked off the 2024 leg of his “One Night at a Time World Tour” with a pair of sold-out shows at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis last week. Later this month, he will appear at the Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, CA.
