The country superstar will take a break from his North American tour to headline London's Hyde Park on July 4
Almost 250 years After the Declaration of Independence was signed, the British pulled off a stunning coup against the United States: They booked Morgan Wallen to play in London's Hyde Park on Independence Day.
The country superstar will headline the one-night-only concert on July 4, with additional supporting acts to be announced soon. tickets for the concert will are being sold March 13.
Since the late 60s, Hyde Park has hosted a number of huge and legendary concerts: Pink Floyd were the first rock band to ever perform there in 1968, and the Rolling Stones played there just two days after the death of their former member Brian Jones in 1969. (it was also the Stones' first live show in two years at the time). In more recent decades, Hyde Park has hosted a regular summer concert series, with everyone from Bruce Springsteen and the Cure to Blackpink and Adele taking to the stage.
Wallen acknowledged all that history in a statement saying, “To play where legendary artists like Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones have played is a huge honor for me and my band and we can't wait to get back.”
News of the Hyde Park gig comes fittingly after Wallen's recent surprise release, the Abbey Road Sessions. Wallen and his band cut the project in the legendary Studio Two at Abbey Road Studio on December 5, 2023. The release features five songs from Wallen's exciting 2023 album One thing at a timean unreleased track “Lies Lies Lies” and a cover of Nothing But Thieves “Graveyard Whistling”.
Wallen will spend much of 2024 touring North America in support One thing at a time. He'll be back on the road April 4 in Indianapolis, Indiana, with dates scheduled through August 9 in Las Vegas.
