Following his headline debut on July 4 at London's BST Hyde Park, which also featured performances from Riley Green, Ella Langley and Ernest, Morgan Wallen has released his much-anticipated ballad 'Lies, Lies, Lies' via Big Loud/Mercury/Republic.
Written by ACM songwriter winner Jessie Jo Dillon alongside Josh Miller, Daniel Ross and two-time Grammy winner Chris Tompkins and produced by Joey Moi, the ballad was originally recorded in London's Studio Two at Abbey Road Studios in December 2023, just after his sold-out show at the O2 London on 3 December. The recording of “Lies, Lies, Lies” was part of his seven song set Abbey Road Sessionswith the digital series out on March 3, 2024. The release also marked the one-year anniversary of Wallen's third studio album One thing at a time.
“Playing the O2 in London last autumn and recording at Abbey Road, where so much iconic music has been made, was legendary for me and my band. We'll Never Forget,” 11 times the 2023 Billboard The Music Awards winner said in a statement when the Abbey Road Sessions released the project. “I'm so excited to release them Abbey Road Sessions for my one year anniversary fans One thing at a time. They make all of this possible.”
Other songs on Abbey Road Sessions included “Sunrise”, “Everything I Love”, “I Deserve a Drink” and a version of Nothing But Thieves' “Graveyard Whistling”.
Meanwhile, Wallen's collaboration with Post Malone, “I Had Some Help,” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six weeks and topped the Hot Country Songs chart for seven weeks.
