Ms. Lauryn Hill teamed up with her son YG Marley for a medley performance of “Ex-Factor,” “Survival,” and “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night. Watch video of the performance, which coincide with Fallon’s 10th anniversary as host of The Tonight Show, below.
Last December, YG shared his first single, “Praise Jah in the Moonlight,” co-written with his mother and sampling his paternal grandfather, reggae legend Bob Marley. Now, the song has over 250 million streams on Spotify alone, and earned a spot on the Billboard Hot 100, being the first reggae song to do so in seven years. Ahead of his appearance on Fallon, he shared “Survival” as his latest single.
As for Hill, she played some live dates last year, but ultimately had to postpone and cancel a number of shows due to “serious vocal strain.” She did join Marley on stage at Coachella, though, and had a quasi Fugees reunion with bandmate Wyclef Jean.
