Morgan Wallen's history of bad behavior caught up with him Tuesday when the Metro Nashville Council voted 30-3 against the construction of a 20-foot sign advertising “This Morgan Wallen Bar” in the city's downtown district . As The Tennessee Council members reportedly directly cited his past use of the N-word and his recent incident of throwing a chair from the roof of a Nashville bar.
“I don't want to see a sign with the name of a person who throws chairs off balconies and says racial slurs,” said General Council member Delishia Porterfield. District Council 33 member Antoinette Lee added that voting against the proposal could “help people who are committing these harmful actions think twice.”

Even Council member Jacob Kupin, who voted in favor of the sign, admitted he couldn't “let this individual go unnoticed.” Kupin continued, “It occurred to me that… let's put a sign with the name of someone who hasn't been a good actor in the center.”
However, Kupin explained that he voted to approve the sign because TC Restaurant Group, the company that manages the bar, “has been a really good partner in everything that happens downtown.”
Morgan Wallen's This Bar will open this weekend on Fourth Avenue North, near the Ryman Auditorium.
Wallen's felony and misdemeanor charges for the chair-throwing incident are still pending. In a statement apologizing for his actions, he said: “I am not proud of my behavior and I accept responsibility.”
