After 14 long years, Nero has returned to the drum & bass scene.
In October, the legendary electronic music group formally kicked off their next album cycle with “Truth,” the first single from their upcoming third album. Towards the unknown. Just days into 2024, they're back with news of their first drum & bass single in 14 years, “Blame You,” which was officially released today.
Matching the epic scale of its cinematic predecessors, “Blame You” begins by focusing on Alana Watson’s timeless vocals as Nero’s production builds up a static charge. After properly setting the stage and taking us to the year 2808, they unleashed a dark electric pulse in the form of a tightly woven drum & bass breakdown reminiscent of some of the early tracks that helped catapult the group to global renown.
As of this writing, the band has yet to announce the release date for Towards the unknownthe final album in a trilogy that began with 2011's influential Welcome reality. In the meantime, you can listen to “Blame You” below and find the new single on streaming platforms. here.
