For the past few months, billboards and bus ads in Los Angeles have been promoting the arrival of Netflix Is at Joke Fest, with some legitimately funny advertising copy (“You can't spell 'laugh' without 'LA' and 'ugh'” . ). And what awaits us promises to be truly epic; a lot summarized in these 12 days: “400+ artists. More than 500 shows. More than 35 places,” the streamer promises.
As Consequence's man lady in Havana LA, I'm excited to see the full range of shows, and below I've compiled some of the festival's most exciting announced events, focusing on shows that aren't just headliner stand-up. (Though there are some great options, including John Mulaney, Wanda Sykes, Ali Wong, and more.)
There are many surprises planned, with many complete lineups kept secret, but if you consider it How many damn comedians? will be in Los Angeles during the festival, there's a good chance you'll see at least one or two of your favorites on stage this May.

Comedy Gods with David Letterman
Various dates
The Montalbán Theater
Retirement suits David Letterman, not just talking about the beard. His new passion for long-form interviews with notable figures has led to wonderfully insightful conversations (his new special with John Mulaney, premiering on Netflix April 30, is a must-see). Therefore, it does not matter that Netflix has not announced who he will interview during the three nights at the Montalbán; no matter what, they will be great conversations.
