A new graphic novel chronicling the life and times of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead is coming this summer from Z2 Comics. Below you can see a first look at the cover.
Presented in oral history format, No Regrets: The Illustrated True Stories of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead features contributions from rock icons such as Dave Grohl (who wrote the foreword), Ozzy Osbourne (who wrote the afterword), Slash, Lars Ulrich, Lita Ford, Chrissie Hynde, Dee Snider and Dave Navarro, among others. Additionally, Lemmy's bandmates Phil Campbell, Mickey Dee and Slim Jim Phantom are also included.
Other notable contributors include Neil Gaiman, Michael Moorcock, professional wrestlers Triple H and Corey Graves, Matt Pinfield, Penelope Spheeris and Riki Rachtman.
In total, 25 people were paired with 25 artists, telling stories about their personal encounters with the late Motörhead legend. Illustrators include Dave Chisholm, Bob Fingerman, Jay Jay Jackson and Jim Mahfood. The aforementioned cover was illustrated and designed by Tim Bradstreet (Punisher, Infernal) and features a holographic coating on Lemmy's aviator glasses.
“Until then I had never met what I would call a true rock 'n' roll hero,” Dave Grohl says in the graphic novel's prologue. “Fuck Elvis and Keith Richards, Lemmy is the king of rock 'n' roll. A living, breathing, drinking fucking legend. “No one else comes close.”
Like all Z2 books, No regrets comes in a host of collectible editions, including one that comes with a white vinyl variant of Motörhead's legendary double LP compilation. No regretsas well as a triptych of posters by designer Hydro74 (which can be seen below) and a three-card collector's set presented in a custom frame featuring the art of thrash-metal painter Ed Repka (Megadeth, Super7).
All collector's editions will include the oversized deluxe volume of the graphic novel housed in a foil-embossed slipcase, with die cuts revealing the holographic coating of Lemmy's aviators.
The standard hardcover edition of No Regrets: The Illustrated True Stories of Lemmy Kilmister and Motörhead It sells for a list price of $35, and you can pre-order it along with the various collector's editions via Z2 Comics.
