After an 11-year hiatus, New Kids on the Block have come together once again to create and release their new album 'Still Kids'. They share how their new song “Better Days” came to be, their thoughts on *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, what fans can expect on their upcoming Magic Summer nostalgia tour, and more.
Joey McIntyre:
It involved courting room service and a bottle of wine. Yeah.
Donnie Wahlberg:
And then he played hard to get for two days, not talking to John, so John was like, “What happened? He doesn’t text me.”
New kids on the block:
Hey, we're the New Kids on the Block. This is Billboard news.
Jason Lipshutz:
You guys have a new album for the first time in 11 years. How is the feeling? What does it feel like for you today?
Joey McIntyre:
Well, it's exciting to finally be able to share the album. I mean, it's already finished and ready to go for a while. It's exciting and just hearing the fans, you know, dive right in. We're excited, proud of the album and excited to play it and have listening parties. Right, Jordan?
Gentleman of Jordan:
It's always fun to release new music and share it with fans. It's something you've been working on for a year, or however long it took.
Jason Lipshutz:
Have you been browsing social media? Are you the type of guys who scroll, like to see reactions, like their favorite songs? Release the music? Are you guys connected to that? Or do you just let it go?
Joey McIntyre:
It was there, yes. And the fans are already singing different songs.
