NewJeans Hit the Beach, Blow Bubbles and Live The Best Pop Live in Their Effervescent 'Bubble Gum' Video

NewJeans tackle some classic pop group hijinks in the new video for their effervescent single “Bubble Gum.” The K-pop girl group consisting of members MINJI, HANNI, DANIELLE, HAERIN, and HYEIN created a perfectly groomed weekend of fun in the Youngeum Lee-directed music video released on Friday (April 26).

In the latest preview from the quintet's upcoming double single album How sweet — a two-track offering due for release on May 24 featuring “Bubble Gum” and the title track — fans see the women chilling out in front of the camera while taking part in the time-honored tradition of making a band look more like a high school clique of the best from a K-pop juggernaut.

The action begins in a truck, of course, where women blow bubble gum and weave friendship bracelets as the summery, laid-back track builds. The rest is a montage of the five playing marbles in their apartment, where they make balloon animals and play with soap bubbles, eventually ending up at the beach for more bubble blowing, wave riding and, yes, even more bubble-via-bubble action . arms.

It's a lot of bubbles, to be honest.

The trip ends with them returning to the truck, grooving to the song's laid-back beat, and then running through the night with flashlights while, of course, blowing bubbles.

The follow-up to two songs from the NewJeans single album in January 2023, Oh my Godanother single album will follow on June 21st, Supernatural, which will mark the band's official debut in Japan. This will include the title track along with “Right Now” and two instrumental tracks.

To celebrate their Japanese debut, the group will host a two-day fanmeet concert, on June 26-27.
